Giuseppe Galletta was born in Messina in 1954. He developed a keen interest in Astronomy from an early age. He graduated from the “G. Seguenza” Scientific High School in Messina in 1971. He initially attended the Degree Course in Physics at the University of Pisa and, two years later, transferred to Padua, where he graduated in Astronomy in 1975.
The following year, he began his scientific research at the Astronomical Observatory and the University of Padua. Over the years, he has held numerous positions at the Observatory, the University, and the CNR (National Research Council).
He has also been extensively involved in public outreach, giving hundreds of lectures, hosting themed events, and participating in newspaper and TV interviews. He has authored several popular science books.
